Mac mini, the Ultimate Toilet Paper Dispenser

Last Christmas, I prayed for a Mac mini upgrade from Apple. Unfortunately, Uncle Santa Steve did not make my dream came true and Apple failed to reveal anything better for Mac mini's evolution. It sucks!
Nowadays, the existing Mac mini is still stubbornly powered by the out-dated Intel's Core Duo CPU, running the CPU speed at 1.66GHz or 1.83GHz respectively. I do not hear anything significant from the Apple Campus since last year, and obviously Apple will soon drop the Mac mini.
The only way I can see that Mac mini is ended up to serve its glorious duty as a toilet paper holder in my home.
R.I.P. Mac mini 2005-2007.

Two Intel's 3GHz Quad-core Xeon "Clovertown" CPU, 4GB capacity of Apple's original Fully-Buffered DIMM memory modules, a total of 1TB of SATA hard disk drives, equipped with only 1 unit of DVD-R/RW Superdrive, Bluetooth EDR(Enhanced Data Rate) and a set of Apple Wireless Keyboard and Mighty Mouse. Apple Inc & Apple Corps Trademark Lawsuit Settled

The trademark legal disputes between Apple Inc. and Apple Corps Ltd, that is the Beatles' guardian entity have resolved.
The settlement gives Cupertino-based Apple Inc. ownership of the name and logo in return for agreeing to license some of those trademarks back to London-based Apple Corps - guardian of The Beatles' commercial interests - for their continued use.
Other terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Legal analysts estimate that Apple Inc. paid $50 million to $100 million for the rights to own the name and the Apple logo.
Jobs welcomes the positive settlement and Beatles fans are expecting the Fab Four to show up in Apple's iTunes Music Store, no songs of The Beatles are available to download yet, however.

My Tissue Box from Apple

Dear Santa,
My Mac mini is being modified lately as a Tissue Box, and it's going to sit at the top of the water tank and serves its glorious duty for the rest of the days.
Uncle Santa, I don't mean to be greedy. But, I have been longing for a better Mac mini that can take up my daily routine jobs, powered by a faster Intel's Merom CPU, give me 4GB of DDR-2 RAM and a faster 7200 rpm hard disk drive. As a result, I may finish my tons of photo batch processing work in Adobe Photoshop and C1 PRO, and yet, do not let my Mac turns out a 100% full load of CPU, while the Mac OS X Tiger has been paging out rapidly in an unwanted situation.
Please let me know if I am asking too much from you.
Merry Christmas, Santa! Give my love to your reindeers.
Humble voice from Tomahawk.
Beatles, the Fab Four available online in iTMS?

Another rumor and speculation to stir up with Apple.
After U2 iPod launched a couple of years ago to the market by Jobs, Mac users always ask me who will be the next iPod Star? and I always claim that the forthcoming idol will be the Beatles.
The Beatles, under the management of Apple Corps, has been tangled up with Apple Computer in courtrooms for more than 20 years. And yet, it is about time to make peace for both companies to benefit themselves in a mutual solution, that put the Beatles' music exclusively in iTunes Music Store for the public. The Beatles music sell like hot cakes!
Make Love, No Wars! PEACE!

Fred Anderson Resigns from Apple Board of Directors
Fred Anderson Resigns from Apple Board of Directors
CUPERTINO, California — October 4, 2006 — Apple® today announced that the special committee of its board of directors has reported its findings after a three month investigation into Apple’s stock option practices. The special committee of outside directors, together with independent counsel and accountants, examined more than 650,000 emails and documents, and conducted interviews with more than 40 current and former employees, directors and advisors. Apple initiated this voluntary independent investigation after a management review discovered irregularities in past stock option grants.
The independent investigation's key findings are:
• The investigation found no misconduct by any member of Apple's current management team.
• The most recent evidence of irregularities relates to a January 2002 grant.
• Stock option grants made on 15 dates between 1997 and 2002 appear to have grant dates that precede the approval of those grants.
• In a few instances, Apple CEO Steve Jobs was aware that favorable grant dates had been selected, but he did not receive or otherwise benefit from these grants and was unaware of the accounting implications.
• The investigation raised serious concerns regarding the actions of two former officers in connection with the accounting, recording and reporting of stock option grants. The company will provide all details regarding their actions to the SEC.
"I apologize to Apple's shareholders and employees for these problems, which happened on my watch. They are completely out of character for Apple," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "We will now work to resolve the remaining issues as quickly as possible and to put the proper remedial measures in place to ensure that this never happens again."
The company also announced that Fred Anderson, Apple’s former CFO, has resigned from its board of directors. Mr. Anderson, who served as CFO from 1996 until 2004, informed the company that he believes it is in Apple’s best interests that he resign from the board at this time.
The company and its independent auditors are reviewing the findings of the independent investigation. Management continues to believe, and the audit committee agrees, that Apple will likely need to restate its historical financial statements to record non-cash charges for compensation expense relating to past stock option grants. The company and its independent auditors are reviewing recent accounting guidance published by the SEC, and have not yet determined the amount of such charges, the resulting tax and accounting impact, or which periods may require restatement. The company continues to proactively inform the SEC of its findings.
